The School of Arts and Humanities congratulates philosophy major Amish Patel for receiving the 2022-2023 Foundation Scholarship. This $7000 scholarship award is allocated to underrepresented students in need of financial support who have made outstanding contributions to a California State University campus and will allow Amish to further pursue his doctoral studies. The Foundation Scholarship is Amish’s second major award. He won the CSU Sally Casanova Pre-Doctoral Scholarship in 2021. Although Patel was “shocked” to win this prize, he also added that, “I am excited to receive additional support to pursue my research and doctoral dreams.” Mike Ezra, professor of American Multicultural Studies, who consulted with Patel on his application, asserted, “I’m pleased to see Amish win this award. His academic career is off to an outstanding start and I’ll look forward to seeing what happens next.”
