Dr. Kim Hester Williams has accepted an invitation starting in September to be an on going co-editor of the academic journal, Legacy: A Journal of American Women Writers. In print since 1984, Legacy is the only scholarly journal to focus specifically on American women's writing, broadly defined, from the seventeenth through the mid-twentieth century. We are interested in projects that examine the works of individual authors; genre studies, analyses of race, ethnicity, gender, class, and sexualities in women's literature: historical and material cultural issues pertinent to women's lives and literary works; and myriad other topics.
Hester Williams will also be a special guest editor for the next issue of Gothic Nature, Issue V: Decolonising the EcoGothic. Look for this publication in spring 2024.
In April Kim Hester Williams and co-editor (of Racial Ecologies), LeiLani Nishime, were invited as the closing faculty guest lecturers/visitors for the 2022-23 Pomona College Human/Nature Speakers Series. Along with visiting and speaking with a cohort class of undergraduate and faculty fellows, Kim Hester Williams and LeiLani Nishime presented a joint keynote guest lecture entitled, "Decolonizing Alternative Futures (in the) Present".
